BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's golf team took 2nd at the Beaver Fall Classic on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024. Heartland Conference rival Mount St. Joseph claimed the top prize with a sparkling 622, while the Beavers finished with a 646, the 4th best score all time for the Bluffton women.
Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Bradley) led the Beavers with an 81 on Sunday. Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) and Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) were a shot back with rounds of 82. Sophomore Hope Manning (South Charleston/Southeastern) followed with an 85.
Cline's 157 was good for 3rd at the tournament and all four of Bluffton's scorers on the 'A' team finished in the top eight individually! Waggener, Hemmelgarn and Manning went 161, 163, and 165, respectively.
Keylee Goerss (Hamilton/Talawanda) led the 'B' squad with a 188 for 36 holes. Sophomores Gabby Green (Beavercreek/Carroll) and Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) finished the tournament with a pair of 193's.
Kendall Van Horn (Wharton/Upper Sandusky) checked in with a 195, while seniors Isabel Miller (Dayton/Centerville) and Cheyanne Bolden (Sidney) shot 205 and 214, respectively.
Bluffton will head to Lexington, Ky., for the HCAC Preview at Kearney Hill Golf Club on Saturday, Oct. 12. The two-day tournament will cap off the fall portion of the women's 2024-25 schedule.
