LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Bluffton University women made school history with their first-ever tournament victory at the HCAC Preview on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024! Bluffton went back-and-forth with Mount St. Joseph all weekend, but the Beavers shot 322 and 326 for a 648 and three-stroke victory over the pesky Lions.
A pair of Bluffton seniors shared the individual championship as Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) and Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Bradley) led the way with scores of 155 for the tournament! Cline's 74 led the field on Saturday, while Waggener topped the HCAC with a 77 on Sunday. The 155's were top 5 scores all-time for the Bluffton women.
Sophomore Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) made it three Beavers in the top four with a 162 (81-81). Hope Manning (South Charleston/Southeastern) and Gabby Green (Beavercreek/Carroll) followed with scores of 176 and 180, respectively. Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) chipped in with a 191 as an individual.
The Bluffton women put an exclamation point on their fall slate and they will now prepare for part two of the season, starting in March of 2025.
