BLUFFTON, Ohio - The women's soccer team (1-2) notched their first victory of the season to top the Hiram Terriers, 2-1 on Wednesday.

The women tallied both of their goals in the first half and were able to hold off the Terriers for the win.  Freshman BRIANNE VON LEHMDEN (Ft. Jennings/Ft. Jennings) scored the first goal at the 11:34 mark of the game.  Then with seven seconds remaining in the first half freshman KENZEY MEYER (Hilliard/Hilliard Darby) provided the Beavers game winning goal.

"Our defense played extremely well.  With the win our expectations are higher," head coach Steve Smucker said.  "I think we've learned some things about our team in the last couple of games.  Hannah Kehr and Kate Barhorst did a great job last night.  I think as a team we played every minute of the game."

Bluffton University will be in action this Saturday at Rochester.  Start time for the match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
