Hanover fires 4-0 shutout over Beavers on Homecoming

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team fell 4-0 to a hot Hanover offense on Saturday, October 10, 2009. Bluffton dropped to .500 (6-6) on the season and 0-3 in the HCAC while Hanover improved to a perfect 3-0 in conference action and 8-3-1 overall.

Neither team could find the back of the net until Panther JENNIE DUMAINE scored with only 15 seconds left in the first half. The other three Hanover goals came during a 14-minute span midway through the second period, giving the Panthers a shutout victory over the home team, 4-0.
 
Bluffton's MADDIE MOORE (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams) produced two of three shots on goal, the only shots taken for the Beavers in the contest. Freshman keeper MOLLY MARTIN(Brookville) grabbed 14 saves in the conference match.
 
The Panthers forced seven corner kicks during the contest and limited the Beavers to just one. Hanover was whistled for 10 fouls, compared to only three for Bluffton. The Panthers took a total of 27 shots.

The Beavers return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 13, when they host HCAC rival Defiance College. The battle with the Jackets is slated to start at 4 p.m.
