Trans women knock off Bluffton 2-0

LEXINGTON, Ky. -The Bluffton University women's soccer team was defeated by conference foe Transylvania University, 2-0, on Saturday, October 17, 2009. The Beavers fell to 6-8 on the season and 0-5 in the Heartland Conference while the Pioneers improved to 5-1 in conference play and 9-4-1 overall.

The Transy women scored their first goal during the 29th minute and added a second tally during the 64th minute for their 2-0 victory over Bluffton. The Pioneers outshot the Beavers, 24-2, and they forced eight corner kicks. The Beavers were whistled three times for fouls.
 
MADDIE MOORE (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams) and KOURTNEY LEWIS(Arlington/Riverdale) fired the only Bluffton shots in the match. Freshman keeper MOLLY MARTIN (Brookville) came away with four saves in the contest.
 
The Beavers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 21, when they travel to face HCAC foe Manchester College. The clash with the Spartans is slated to start at 4 p.m.
