Beavers equal 1999 squad for most wins in school history

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team knocked off conference rival Anderson University, 1-0, on Saturday, October 31, 2009. Bluffton ended the season 8-9 overall and 2-6 in the Heartland Conference, while Anderson fell to 1-6-1 in conference action and 2-15-2 overall.

During the 18th minute of play, freshman midfielder KIRSTEN EGTS (Rawson/Cory-Rawson) received the ball at the midline and dribbled past several Anderson players before placing the ball between the left post and the Raven keeper to give Bluffton the win, 1-0, over Anderson University.
 
Bluffton's KATY WISBY (Lancaster/Bloom-Carroll) paced the home team with six shots, including three on goal. CAITLIN WHITE (Lima/Central Catholic) also generated two shots for Bluffton. The Beavers outshot the Ravens, 12-7, during the contest. Freshman keeper MOLLY MARTIN (Brookville) snatched two saves in the victory.
 
The Ravens forced five corner kicks during the match and they limited the home team to just three. The foul count was close as Bluffton was whistled for seven infractions and Anderson had six.

The Bluffton women finished their 2009 campaign 8-9 overall and 2-6 in the Heartland Conference, as senior MEGHAN FORQUER (North Canton/Green) played in her final contest as a Beaver. The eight wins matches the 1999 squad for the most victories in Bluffton women's soccer history.
