Beavers on wrong end of 4-0 decision at Indiana Tech

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision at Indiana Tech on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012. Indiana Tech scored three goals in the first half and one in the second. Bluffton fell to 1-6 on the season, while the Warriors improved to 7-2.

Indiana Tech got on the scoreboard at the 5:17 mark. NATALIE ZIMMERMAN took a feed from RIKKI SINGSTOCK for the quick 1-0 lead. Less than 10 minutes later, Zimmerman put the ball in the back of the net again with the assist coming from MEGAN PERREY. 

The third goal for the home team was scored by Perrey at the 23:59 mark. Bluffton was unable to gain any traction throughout the first period as Indiana Tech took a 3-0 lead into the break.

The Beavers came out and battled during period two, keeping the Warriors at bay until the last minute of the match. With 39 seconds left, Indiana Tech's ALEX FIELD capped the victory with an unassisted tally for the 4-0 final.

Fultz led the visitors with three shots while junior Megan Moreo (Spencerville/Delphos Jefferson) and senior Maddie Moore (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams) added two apiece. Junior Maggie Armstrong (Vevay, Ind./Switzerland Cty.) and freshman Ashley Knippen (Wapakoneta) combined for a total of five saves. Indiana Tech was called for 16 fouls, while Bluffton was whistled for just four.

Bluffton jumps right back into action when the Beavers host Huntington University on Friday, Sept. 21. The contest is slated for 4 p.m.
