Hanover rolls to 5-1 victory over Beavers

HANOVER, Ind. - The Hanover College women's soccer team broke a scoreless tie after almost 30 minutes of play and followed that up with four second half tallies en route to their 11th victory for the season on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012. Bluffton dropped to 3-8-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the Heartland Conference.

After back-and-forth play for the majority of the first half, the Panthers finally got on the scoreboard in minute 30. The first half ended with the score 1-0 in favor of the defending HCAC champions.

Hanover added a pair of tallies in the first eight minutes of period two and cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Beavers. In minute 62, MADDIE MOORE (Linn Grove, Ind./South Adams) drilled the only goal for Bluffton with an assist from AIMEE WHITMER (Grand Rapids/Otsego). The Panthers then tacked on two more goals in minutes 75 and 89 to cap it off.

The home team finished with a 12-9 advantage in shots, while they matched the number of corner kicks (3) with Bluffton. The Beavers committed three more fouls than Hanover (11-8). Aimee Whitmer paced the visitors with four shot attempts and Maddie Moore followed with three.

Bluffton will look to get back into the win column when the Beavers welcome Manchester University on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012. The contest is slated for 4 p.m.
