BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team fell 2-1 at Franklin College on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024. The Beavers slipped to 4-6-2 overall and 1-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Franklin improved to 4-5-2 and 3-1 in the HCAC.
Franklin needed less than five minutes to get on the scoreboard and the home team made it 2-0 in minute 28 before sophomore Riley Eachus (Bluffton) cut the deficit in half with her second tally of the season. The Grizzlies held Bluffton at bay during the second 45 minutes on the way to a 2-1 victory Saturday afternoon.
Both teams finished the match with seven shots. Franklin forced one more corner kick (5-4) and the Grizzlies were also whistled for one more foul.
Sophomore Morgan Jarvis (Powell/Dublin Scioto) led the offense with three shots, while senior Brielle Collier (Anna) came away with a pair of saves at Franklin.
Bluffton returns to the Sears Complex for a 3:30 p.m. matchup with newly-minted HCAC member Berea College on Wednesday, Oct. 16.
