BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University women's soccer team saw two of its members earn Third Team All-Heartland Conference for their work on the pitch in 2024. Graduate student Brittney Ramirez (Archbold) and senior Brielle Collier (Anna) both collected their first post-season hardware this year.
Collier has been a fixture between the pipes since she stepped on campus in the fall of 2021. She ranks 2nd all-time with 437 saves and she also finished her career 2nd on the career list with 18 victories and 9.5 shutouts. Collier is 3rd on the all-time list with 5,531:11 minutes played. The senior saw action in 65 matches (tied for 8th) and her 64 starts are 7th all-time.
For the season, Collier finished 3rd in the Heartland Conference with nearly 6.5 saves per contest. She allowed just 2.26 goals per match with four shutouts and 116 saves in 17 starts for the Beavers.
Another stalwart in the Bluffton defense, Ramirez stands in a tie for 3rd all-time with 67 matches played and her 66 starts are tied for 5th all-time. Her 5,450 minutes are 4th all time as she and Collier are two of just eight Bluffton women to cross the 5,000 minutes threshhold.
Ramirez was a key component for a Bluffton squad that allowed 11 fewer goals than it did in 2023. She started all 17 matches, amassing 1,462 minutes played while chipping in with an assist.
Collier and Ramirez were involved in 18 wins for Bluffton as well as being members of the 2022 squad which was just the second team in school history to earn a berth in the Heartland Conference tournament!
