Bluffton seniors moving up in career record book

October 3, 2001

In the midst of challenging for the 2001 Heartland Conference title, four Bluffton College senior volleyball players are quickly moving up in the BC career record book.

In what could be the first of it's kind at Bluffton, two players went over the 1,000 dig mark in the same day as seniors Jaime Frisk and Lisa Rathburn both joined that elite club on September 29 during the Beaver's two matches at Denison. Frisk's 1,000th dig came in BC's first match of the day against Denison, while Rathburn then collected her 1,000th dig later that day against Marietta. Frisk and Rathburn are the 22nd and 23rd players to join the 1,000 dig club.

Senior Mandy Pequignot continues her climb in career kills, as she has now moved into seventh place with her total of 1,020 kills. Her career hitting percentage of over .270 is already a Bluffton record.

Senior setter Erica Jellison has now moved into second on the career assist list. Her grand total of 2,342 assists is second only to record holder Jayne Miller, who collected 4,275 assists from 1995-98.
