Bluffton College scored an impressive victory Thursday night in Founders Hall as the Beavers defeated Anderson University 3-2 (30-27, 30-25, 19-30, 23-30, 15-12). Anderson entered the game with a 20-4 overall record and a perfect 3-0 mark in the Heartland Conference to share the league lead with The College of Mount St. Joseph. With the win Bluffton snaps Anderson's 16-game winning streak and improves to 7-15 overall and 2-1 in the HCAC. Bluffton won the first two games of the match before Anderson came back to tie the match at two games apiece. BC won the fifth game 15-12 to claim the victory. Four Bluffton players collected double-digit kills in the match, led by senior Jaime Frisk (Wooster) with 13. Frisk also had a team-high 28 digs. Senior Mandy Pequignot (DeGraff/Indian Lake) and freshman Courtney Tisher (Rittman) both had 12 kills and freshman Jill Rothe (Wapakoneta/St. Mary's) had 11. Senior Erica Jellison (Van Wert) registered 42 assists. Pequignot added a team-high eight blocks. Anderson was led by Audra Hodge with 26 kills and 21 digs. Jeremi Mitchel had 72 assists and 23 digs.
