Seniors go out winners at home with 3-2 route of Thomas More

Playing in their final match in Founders Hall, four Bluffton College volleyball seniors led the Beavers to a 3-2 win over Thomas More Monday night.

On Senior Night, seniors Jaime Frisk, Erica Jellison, Mandy Pequignot and Lisa Rathburn led BC over a talented TMC squad, which entered the night with an 18-14 overall record. BC won the match 30-24, 29-31, 23-30, 30-19, 16-14 to improve their record to 10-22 overall.

Bluffton will enter the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament on Friday in Defiance with a 3-3 league record. The Beavers will most likely be paired against either Franklin or Anderson in the first round of the tournament.

Against Thomas More Monday night, Frisk led the attack with 23 kills and 39 digs. Pequignot was close behind with 20 kills and had 17 digs, while Jellison collected 60 assists and had 28 digs and five service aces.

Rathburn added 20 digs and freshman Courtney Tisher notched a team-high five blocks and contributed 13 kills. Junior Janelle Beck and sophomore Erin Cooper combined for 29 digs.
