Beavers down Marietta 3-2

BLUFFTON, OHIO - The Bluffton College volleyball (8-7) team picked up their first home win of the year, 3-2 over Marietta Friday night. Match scores were: 20-30 (M), 30-22 (B), 30-17 (B), 31-29 (M), 15-11 (B).

The game was the second home contest of the year for the Beavers, with both home games this season having gone to five matches. The first was a one point loss to local rivals Ohio Northern in the fifth and final game.

Leading the way for BC was junior Erin Kreim (New Washington/Buckeye Central) who posted 43 total attacks on the night and 27 digs. Senior Erin Cooper (Wooster/Wooster) posted 134 sets on the evening. Keri Kuhlman (Shelby/Shelby) had three aces for the match.

"We had outstanding effort in coming back from the game one loss and battling back in the fifth game to win," Bluffton coach Sara Wakefield said. "Our girls showed a lot of heart and determination on the court tonight."

Bluffton will be in action next Thursday when host Tri-State. Start time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
