#5 ONU rolls through Bluffton in season opener

ADA, OHIO - The Bluffton University volleyball team (0-1) traveled to neighbor school Ohio Northern University to open up the 2004 season. The No. 5 Polar Bears were too much for the Beavers as they won in three games (30-22, 30-22, 30-21).

Junior Keri Kuhlman (Shelby/Shelby) led the Beavers with 32 total attacks. Seniors Courtney Tisher (Rittman/Rittman) and Erin Kreim (New Washington/Buckeye Central) posted 26 attacks each. Kreim also led the Beavers with 15 digs. Senior Kelly Kettinger (Oregon/Clay) led Bluffton with 34 service receptions.

Bluffton University will be back in action this Friday and Saturday when they travel to Earlham College to participate in the Quaker Classic. The team plays Goshen on Friday at 4 p.m. and Centre at 7 p.m. On Saturday the Beavers play Heidelberg at 10 a.m. and their last match at either 2:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.
