Bluffton cruises to 3-1 win over Ohio Wesleyan

The Bluffton University volleyball team (5-8) picked up a lone win last week as the Beavers defeated Ohio Wesleyan 3-1 (30-25, 30-24, (20-30), 30-22) on Wednesday. Bluffton then traveled to the Denison Quad and found that their first match against Bethany College was cancelled. The Beavers lone match came against Denison as they lost 3-0 (30-16, 30-23, 30-24).

In the Ohio Wesleyan match, Junior KERI KUHLMAN (Shelby/Shelby) posted 42 attacks to lead the Beavers. Junior LESLIE OVERMYER (Payne/Wayne Trace) knocked down four service aces to lead Bluffton. Senior KELLY KETTINGER (Oregon/Clay) had a good game as she recorded team highs in digs (39) and service receptions (25).

Against Denison Kettinger continued her incredible dig performances by posting 27 for the match. Keri Kuhlman led the team again with 43 total attacks and 13 kills. Sophomore BRITTANY SHULTZ (Hudson, Ind./Prairie Heights) posted 22 assists on the contest.

The volleyball team will be back in play this Friday and Saturday when they travel to the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
