Beavers show positives in loss to Defiance

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team (7-12, 0-2 HCAC) lost in four games to rival Defiance College (15-5, 2-0 HCAC) on Tuesday night. Match scores were: 30-25 DC, 30-19 B, 31-29 DC, 30-22 DC.

The Beavers were led by senior COURTNEY TISHER (Rittman/Rittman) who registered 17 kills in only 40 attempts and six blocks on the game. Senior KELLY KETTINGER (Oregon/Clay) posted four service aces and 26 service receptions.

"We played very well as a team tonight," head coach Sara Wakefield said. "We took game two and went the distance in game three. Overall, I'm happy to see us playing more together as we go into the conference season."

Bluffton University will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Wilmington College for a three-way meet. The Beavers will play Wilmington and Emory & Henry.
