Beavers roll to 3-1 win over Transy

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team (10-13, 1-3 HCAC) defeated Transylvania University (1-16, 0-2 HCAC) 3-1 on Friday night. Match scores were: 30-26 (TU), 30-14 (B), 30-28 (B), 30-25 (B). The victory was Bluffton's first conference win of the year.

Junior KERI KUHLMAN (Shelby/Shelby) knocked down 15 kills on the evening with seniors COURTNEY TISHER (Rittman/Rittman) and JILL ROTHE (Wapakoneta/St. Mary's) posting 14 kills each. Tisher led the team with 27 digs on the game with senior ERIN KREIM (New Washington/Buckeye Central) posting 24 digs. Senior KELLY KETTINGER (Oregon/Clay) led the Beavers with three aces.

"We let them stay with us tonight, but never gave up and stuck it out until the end," head coach Sara Wakefield said. "They surprised us but we made the necessary adjustments to come out with a great team win."

Bluffton will be back in action on the road next Tuesday when they travel to Anderson University. Start time for the Heartland Conference match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
