Hanover knocks off Beavers 3-1

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team (10-10, 0-2) fell to a hungry Hanover Panther squad (11-9, 
1-0) by a match score of 3-1 on October 1, 2005 at Founders Hall. Game scores were 30-25, 30-21, 25-30 and 30-16.

The Beavers struggled to find their rhythm against the Panthers as they dropped the first two games. Bluffton scored the first five points of the third game and made that spread hold up as they were victorious by a score of 30-25. Bluffton failed to maintain the momentum they built during the third game and Hanover rolled off a 30-16 victory to take the match 3-1. Sophomore KALLA AESCHLIMAN (Archbold/Archbold) led the Beavers with 12 kills for the match. Bluffton sophomore RACHEL ALVAREZ (Convoy/Crestview) recorded 22 digs and knocked down seven kills. Senior KERI KUHLMAN (Shelby/Shelby) finished with 10 kills and three blocks. Junior KATIE MOORE (Bucyrus/Wynford) paced Bluffton with four service aces and also picked up 19 digs. Junior BRITTANY SHULTZ (Hudson, Ind./Prairie Heights) set up the Bluffton hitters with 33 assists.

The Beavers will be back in action this Thursday, October 6 when they travel to play at Oberlin. The match is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
