Anderson handles Bluffton, 3-1

ANDERSON, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's volleyball team (7-17, 1-2) fell to the Ravens of Anderson University (17-6, 3-1) in four games by scores of 31-33, 30-26, 30-15 and 30-19.

The Beavers were led by freshman middle hitter ANNA VIARS (Lebanon/Lebanon) who knocked down 11 kills. Freshman AUDRA COLEMAN (Lima/Lima Central Catholic) chimed in with nine kills of her own while hitting at a .250 clip for the match to round out the front-line offensive attack. Coleman also paced Bluffton with two solo blocks and seven block assists.

Freshman libero BRITTANY ROTH (Findlay/Findlay) controlled the back-line for the Beavers with a total of eight digs while senior defensive specialist KATIE MOORE (Bucyrus/Wynford) added six in the loss. Senior setter BRITTANY SHULTZ (Hudson, IN/Prairie Heights) tallied 24 assists on the night.

The Beavers will be back in action on Friday, October 13, when they play host to conference newcomer Rose-Hulman. The first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Founders.
