Jenna Eshleman named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - JENNA ESHLEMAN (Landisville, Penn./Hempfield) has been named volleyball Player of the Week in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for the week ending Nov. 2, 2008.

Eshleman led the Beavers to a spotless 4-0 mark during the week, with wins in 12 out of 13 sets. She drove home 71 kills while hitting at a phenomenal .377 clip for the week. In addition to her work at the net, the freshman tallied 34 digs, six aces four block assists and two setting assists.

Bluffton wrapped up a three-match Heartland Conference winning streak with a shutout of Franklin on Tuesday night. Against the Grizzlies she had 14 kills and eight digs while hitting .478.

Following a 15-kill match against Lake Erie on Saturday afternoon, she turned in her best performance of the season against NCAA Division II Findlay. Eshleman smoked the Oilers for 24 kills and a .413 hitting percentage.

Eshleman leads the Beavers with 284 kills this season. She is currently second on the team with 295 digs and Eshleman has recorded nine double-doubles as well.

The Beavers host HCAC rival Defiance College on Tuesday evening before facing off against the Hanover College Panthers in the quarterfinals of the Heartland Conference tournament at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at a site to be determined.
