BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University sophomore Nicole Wood (Tiffin/Hopewell Loudon) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball Player of the Week. The outside hitter helped the Beavers to a spotless 5-0 mark this week.

She finished with 47 kills and just 10 hitting errors for a .385 hitting percentage. Wood added a solo block and five block assists. She pounded seven kills on just nine swings against Sewanee and wrapped up the weekend with 13 kills against Ursuline College at Kenyon on Saturday.

Bluffton puts its 10-match home winning streak on the line when the Beavers welcome #4 Ohio Northern to Founders Hall on Wednesday, September 16, 2009. The contest is slated to start at 7 p.m.
