Alma cruises to 3-0 win over Bluffton

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Beavers struggled against Alma College on Friday, Sept. 16, at Wittenberg, losing the first two sets, 25-12 and 25-14. They caught some momentum in the third set, but still fell short, losing 25-21. The setback left the Beavers 6-4 on the season, while Alma improved to 7-3.

Leading the team in kills were seniors Jenna Eshleman (Landisville, Penn./Hempfield) and Nicole Wood (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) with six each followed by fellow senior Courtney Zimmerman(Leesburg/Fairfield) with five. Eshleman led the team in digs with eight. Junior HEATHER SCHIERER (Crescent Springs, Ky./St. Henry) also had eight pickups, followed by senior Meghan Dodson (Tiffin/Calvert) with seven and sophomore Kyleigh Whitsel (Sheffield Lake/Brookside) with six. 

Putting up 11 assists for the Beavers was Whitsel. Freshman Morgan Fullenkamp (Botkins) chipped in with five helpers. Adding to the effort was Bethany Behnfeldt (Napoleon) with two block assists along with Whitsel who also had two.
