Bluffton stings Yellowjackets in four-set victory

BLUFFTON, OH – The Bluffton University volleyball team opened day one of the Beaver Fall Classic with a four-set victory over the Rochester Yellowjackets. The Beavers improved to 10-4 following their fifth straight victory, while Rochester fell to 6-7.

Leading the Bluffton offense was Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) with eight winners. Julianne Kincaid (Galion/Northmor), Kaylie Campbell (Camden/Preble Shawnee) and Alysha Like (McComb) all hammered home seven kills for the good guys. Maddie White (Ashland) dished out 16 assists while also tallying five daggers, picking up seven digs, and firing two aces. Elle Price (Pocono Pines, PA/Findlay (Ohio) doled 14 helpers in the victory.

Emma Organ (Lambertville, MI/St. Ursula Academy) powered the Beaver defense with 11 digs. Courtney Weekley (Butler/Clear Fork) was just off her pace with nine pickups while also firing three aces. Campbell added to her defensive stat line with six blocks for the home team!

The Beavers are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 24, when they face off against Capital University at 11 a.m. followed by Olivet College at 1:30 p.m. Go Beavers!
