Bluffton falls to Earlham in five sets

BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Bluffton University volleyball team honored their five seniors but dropped a hard-fought 3-2 decision to Earlham College on Saturday, Oct. 29. The Beavers fell to 16-10 (4-5 HCAC), while the Quakers improved to 13-15 (6-3 HCAC).

Leading the Beaver offense was Kaylie Campbell (Camden/Preble Shawnee) with 15 kills. Paige Massie (Alvada/Arcadia) hammered home a career-high 14 winners with one error for a ridiculous .520 hitting percentage. Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) was just one off her pace with 13 putaways. Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) knocked down nine shots to the opposition's floor while Alysha Like (McComb) added eight kills and three blocks to her stat line.

Maddie White (Ashland) dished out 32 assists while also hammering home eight kills, picking up 16 digs, and stuffing the Quakers four times. Elle Price (Pocono Pines, PA/Findlay) picked up a double-double with 22 helpers and 10 digs while also firing two service aces.

Emma Organ (Lambertville, MI/St. Ursula Academy) and White powered the Bluffton defense with 16 digs apiece. Courtney Weekley (Butler/Clear Fork) added nine pickups to her stat line and fired a team-high three aces.

The Beavers have secured the six seed in the conference tournament and will travel to Richmond, IN, for a rematch against the Earlham Quakers on Wednesday, Nov. 2. Go Beavers!
