ANDERSON, Ind. - The Bluffton University volleyball team fell at Anderson University in straight sets on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023. Bluffton slipped to 5-16 overall and 0-2 in Heartland Conference play.

Bluffton led 15-7 and 17-11 in the lidlifter before Anderson rallied to score a 25-21 victory over the visitors. The Ravens bolted out to an 11-2 lead in set two and they held Bluffton off 25-17 for a two-set advantage. AU capped off the quick night with a 25-19 win in the clincher.

Freshman Chloe Sample (Springfield/Catholic Central) led the front line with 10 kills on Wednesday night. Kasey Sager (Troy) hammered away with seven putaways and a pert .357 hitting percentage. She topped the Beavers with three blocks.

Mallory Fluharty (Wooster/Triway) dished out 22 helpers and she also picked up eight digs to go along with a pair of blocks. Sophomore Emma Organ (Lambertville, Mich./St. Ursula) led the back row with 12 digs, while freshman Abby Lawhorn (Cable/Mechanicsburg) chipped in with nine.

Bluffton is off for fall break and then the Beavers will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 14, when HCAC-heavyweight Transylvania and Ohio Wesleyan head to the Sommer Center.
