LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Bluffton University volleyball team battled HCAC-favorite Transylvania on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024. The Heartland Conference lidlifter saw the Pioneers post a 3-0 sweep over Bluffton in the the Beck Center. Bluffton fell to 13-6 overall and 0-1 in the conference, while the Pioneers improved to 10-7 and 1-0 in the HCAC.

Senior Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) and junior Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) paced the Bluffton hitters with nine and seven kills, respectively. Back in action was sophomore Gabby Williams (West Liberty/West Liberty-Salem) who handed out a team-best 16 assists on Saturday.

Picking up a dozen digs was sophomore Abby Lawhorn (Cable/Mechanicsburg). Kasey Sager (Troy) stuffed the Pioneers four times, while Woods was in on three blocks.

Bluffton will head to Springfield for a non-conference showdown with Wittenberg University on Wednesday, Oct. 9. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
