Rose-Hulman sweeps Beavers on Senior Day

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University volleyball team fell to Rose-Hulman in straight sets on Senior Day. The Beavers honored Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta), Kaylei Barnett (Wapakoneta) and Kennedy Parker (Lima/Central Catholic) prior to the match on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024. RHIT improved to 10-16 overall and 3-4 in the Heartland Conference, while Bluffton fell to 16-12 and 1-6 in the HCAC.

Rose-Hulman won a pair of tight sets (25-19 and 25-22) before closing out the sweep with a 25-14 rout. The Engineers hit .196 with 34 kills against just 12 errors, while the home team managed just one more kill than error, 28-27.

Chloei Barnett and Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) pounded eight and seven kills, respectively, while Bekah Pack (Lexington) and Kasey Sager (Troy) added five winners apiece. Sophomore Gabby Williams (West Liberty/West Liberty-Salem) dished out 20 helpers for the Beavers.

Saniyah Terry (Macomb, MI/L Anse Creuse HS North) did good work in her two sets at libero, picking up a team-high 16 digs. Fellow freshman Ashlie Nuss (St. Marys/Memorial) chipped in with 11 digs, while Kennedy Parker rifled four aces in her final match on Copeland Court.

Bluffton will hit the road for another Heartland Conference matchup with Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024. First serve from Cincinnati is slated for 7 p.m.
