Women place fifth; men finish fourth at Kiwanis Hanover Invitational

BLUFFTON, Ohio -The Bluffton University cross country teams ran their second race for the season at the Madison Kiwanis Invitation hosted by Hanover College. The women finished fifth out of six teams and the men finished fourth out of five teams.

On the women's side, leading the Beavers was sophomore SARAH HUMPHREY (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) who finished eighth with a time of 20:55.48. Senior JENNIFER CREAMER (Westerville/Westerville South) finished 13th with the time of 21:18.64. The final three finishers were sophomore BREE FETTERMAN (North Royalton/Padua) who finished 24th with a time of 22:20.6, freshman ASHLEY SMITH finished 41st   with a time of 24:40.97 and junior LAUREN BAILEY (Powell/Upper Arlington) finished 45th with a time of 25:02.34.

Leading the men was senior DAN ROSEBROCK (Napoleon/Napoleon) at 17th place with the time of 29:07.46. Sophomore HILLARY SHILOSIO (Eldoret, Kenya) finished 24th with the time of 29:45.53. The final four finishers were senior PATRICK COOLEY (Ludlow Falls/Milton Union) who placed 28th with a time of 30:35.74, sophomore MICHAEL KOCH (Liberty Center/Liberty Center ) finished 40th with a time of 32:56.36, junior JOHNNY ICHRIST (Toledo/Whitmer) finished 46th with a time of 34:30.65 and sophomore PETER HUSTED (Carrollton/Carrollton) finished 48th with a time of 34:39.11.

The cross country team will host the Beaver Invitational on September 16, with the women 6K starting at 5p.m. and the men 8K starting at 5:45 p.m.
