DEFIANCE, Ohio -The Bluffton University men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Defiance College for the annual Defiance College Invitational. The women placed eighth out of 11 teams while the men did not field a full squad.

Junior Sarah Humphrey (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) led the women's squad as she finished 21st overall, crossing the line in 21:53. Sophomore Bree Fetterman (North Royalton/Padua) and freshman Brooke Habrum (Magnolia/Sandy Valley) were the next Beavers to finish as they ended up 40th (23:46) and 42nd (24:10).

The men were led by junior Hillary Shilosio (Eldoret, Kenya) who finished the 8k race in 29:47, placing 29th overall. Shilosio was followed by senior Pat Cooley (Ludlow Falls/Milton Union) who came in 51st with a time of 31:25.

The Beavers return to action on Saturday, September 16, when they travel to Cedarville for the Friendship Invitational.\
