Beavers compete at Wilmington College Fall Classic

The Bluffton men's and women's cross country teams traveled to Wilmington for the Wilmington College Fall Classic on October 13. The women's team finished 13th out of 16 teams, while the men's squad was 15th of 16.

The women were led by junior SARAH HUMPHREY (Upper Sandusky/Upper Sandusky) who finished the 5K race in 21:20, ending up 22nd. Sophomore BREE FETTERMAN (North Royalton/Padua) was the number two runner for the Beavers, finishing 66th with a time of 23:34. Freshman JENNIFER THOELE (Laura/Milton Union), senior LAUREN BAILEY (Powell/Upper Arlington) and freshman SARAH BINKLEY (Bluffton/Cory-Rawson) rounded out the top five placers for the Beavers.

On the men's side, junior HILARY SHILOSIO (Eldoret, Kenya) once again led the Beavers as he crossed the line in 29:05, good for 62nd place. Senior DAVE ESPINOZA (Toledo/Whitmer) ran a season best 29:49 on his way to a 72nd place finish. Senior JOEL KOERNER, in only his third collegiate race, cut his time down to 30:31 as he finished 79th. Juniors MIKE KOCH (Liberty Center/Liberty Center) and PETER HUSTED (Carrollton/Carrollton) rounded out the top five scorers for the Bluffton men's team.
