Beaver harriers run at Wilmington Fall Classic

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Bluffton University cross country teams traveled to Wilmington College for the Wilmington Fall Classic on Friday, October 16, 2009. The women took 22nd out of 25 teams, while the men placed 25th overall.

ALISON JANZEN (Whitewater, KS/Remington) paced the Bluffton women, as she came in 113th place with a time of 22:11.23. Rounding out the Bluffton squad was KAITLYN KELLY(Middlefield/Cardinal) with a time of 22:41.78, sophomore HEATHER SMITH (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) with a time of 22:42.52, senior SARAH BINKLEY (Bluffton/Cory-Rawson) in 22:50.82, and KATY HEFFNER (Troy) who finished with a time of 23:14.70.
 
For the men, ANDY CHAFFEE (Clarkston, Mich.) put together Bluffton's top performance in the 8k run, finishing in 78th place with a time of 28:09.20. Second for Bluffton was BEN SIEBERT(Celina) who crossed the line at 31:20.33. The other Bluffton men's participants included ROBERT HOOLEY (Bluffton) who finished with a time of 33:30.09, KEVIN HICKMAN(Centerburg), who crossed the finish line at the 34:48.73 mark, and JEREMY KIDDER (New Carlisle/Tecumseh)who finished in 35:55.10.

Bluffton's next meet will be the HCAC Championships at Mt. St. Joseph on Saturday, October 31. The race is slated to start at 11 a.m.
