Bluffton harriers compete at Friendship Invitational

 

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Bluffton University cross country teams competed at the Friendship Invitational hosted by Cedarville University on Saturday, Sept. 18. Cedarville women and men both placed first.

Leading the Bluffton women was freshman Lyndsey Darrow (Pioneer/North Central), who placed 119th with a time of 23:12. Also scoring for Bluffton was sophomore Katy Heffner (Troy), who placed 124th with a time of 23:24, sophomore Alison Janzen (Whitewater, Kansas/Remington), who came in 127th with a time of 23:29 and junior Heather Smith (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), who crossed the line 133rd with a time of 24:01.

Freshman James Whitt (Lancaster/Berne Union) led the Bluffton men by placing 121st with a time of 31:43. Rounding out the men was sophomore Jeremy Kidder (New Carlisle/Tecumseh), who took 141st with a time of 34:43, and junior Kevin Hickman (Centerburg), who finished 144th with a time of 35:25.

The Beavers will be back in action next Friday, Sept. 24 on their home course when they host the Bluffton Invitational.
