Bluffton competes in All-Ohio Championships at Cedarville

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - 40 men's teams and 42 women's teams came together on Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 to compete at the 56th annual All-Ohio Championship meet hosted by Cedarville University. Miami University (Ohio) won both the women's and men's team titles, while the Bluffton women placed 38th.

Leading the Bluffton women in the 5k race was freshman LYNDSEY DARROW (Pioneer/North Central), who placed 231st with a time of 22:00. Also scoring for the women was junior HEATHER SMITH (Elkhart, Ind./Concord), who placed 233rd with a time of 22:03, sophomore ALISON JANZEN (Whitewater, Kansas/ Remington), who placed 249th with a time of 22:59.3, sophomore KATY HEFFNER (Troy), who took 253rd with a time of 23:16 and freshman ASHLEY HILLER (New Philadelphia/Tuscarawas Valley), who came across 271st with a time of 28:46.

Freshman JAMES WHITT (Lancaster/Berne Union) led the Bluffton men in the 8k by placing 240th with a time of 30:58.8. Rounding out the men was sophomore JEREMY KIDDER (New Carlisle/Tecumseh), who placed 254th with a time of 33:29.2 and junior KEVIN HICKMAN(Centerburg), who finished 258th with a time of 35:38.9.

The Beavers are idle next weekend, but they will be back in action on October 15 when they travel to Wilmington College.
