Bluffton competes at HCAC Championships

LEXINGTON, Kentucky - The Bluffton men and women competed in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Transylvania University. The Bluffton women placed ninth overall while Manchester College took first on both the men and women's sides.

Leading the Bluffton women in the 6k race was freshman LYNDSEY DARROW (Pioneer/North Central) who placed 44th with a time of 26:51.51. Also scoring for the women was junior HEATHER SMITH (Elkhart, IN/Concord) who took 45th with a time of 26:56, ALISON JANZEN (Whitewater, Kansas/Remington) who placed 50th with a time of 27:11.17, sophomoreKATY HEFFNER (Troy) who came in 56th with a time of 27:28.47. Freshman ASHLEY HILLER(New Philadelphia/Tuscarawas Valley) placed 99th with a time of 32:27.73

Freshman JAMES WHITT (Lancaster/Berne Union) led the Bluffton men in the 8k by placing 71st with a time 30:16.53. Rounding out the men was sophomore JEREMY KIDDER (New Carlisle/Tecumseh) who took 93rd with a time of 33:33.98 and junior KEVIN HICKMAN(Centerburg) who placed 101st with a time of 37:21.38.

The Beavers are idle next weekend before returning to action on November 13 when they travel to Hope College for the NCAA Regional Championships.
