The NCAA Division III recently announced the recipients of Academic All-Ohio honors for the 2017 campaign. Three Bluffton University soccer players were honored for their performance on the field and in the classroom this season.
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently announced the fall honorees of the HCAC All-Academic awards for the 2017-18 school year. Twenty Bluffton University athletes were recognized for their efforts in the classroom.
Bluffton University senior Blake Hershberger and freshman Timothy Murphy have been named All-Heartland Conference for their play in 2017. They were recognized when the HCAC announced its top players this season as voted on by the head coaches.
The Transylvania University men's soccer team scored two quick goals and held off visiting Bluffton for a 2-0 victory on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017. Bluffton finished its season at 1-16 overall and 1-8 in the Heartland Conference, while Transy takes its 15-1 mark (8-1 HCAC) into the conference tournament as the #1 seed.
The Bluffton University men's soccer team put up a valiant effort against the HCAC-leading Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers, but the visitors held on for a 1-0 victory on a beautiful Saturday, Oct. 21. Bluffton slipped to 1-14 on the season and 1-6 in the Heartland Conference, while Rose-Hulman improved to 11-4-1.
